The 2024 year in review: supporting the armed forces and helping Ukraine’s children
26.12.2024
Yevheni But, CEO of the Ruslan Shostak Charitable Foundation
In 2024, the Ruslan Shostak Charitable Foundation continued implementing two large-scale projects: HeroCar and Childhood Without War.
Thanks to your support, HeroCar delivered 150 more vehicles and other wheeled transport to the Armed Forces of Ukraine over the year. These vehicles save lives, assist in combat and reconnaissance missions, and address many critical needs. For special missions, we also provided the military with a Griffon Barbara hovercraft that meets NATO standards.
Next year, we will continue the HeroCar project. Our goal remains the same: 1,000 vehicles for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
In December, we concluded the Childhood Without War project. All 3,500 children and their caregivers, whom we evacuated to Turkey or brought there for rehabilitation since the war began, have returned to Ukraine. Our next step is to provide comprehensive support for these children and find them loving families. To formalize our commitment, we signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with the State Service for Children’s Affairs.
We have significantly expanded our network of partners. In 2024, over 90 new partners joined the foundation’s initiatives, helping us raise funds for new vehicles for the Armed Forces and offering informational, resource, and other forms of support.
We deeply appreciate the organizations and companies that have supported us in these challenging years and those who joined in 2024. Special thanks to WOG, KONTI, LIMO, Yarych, Galicia, Podorozhnyk pharmacy network, Simі and Sim23 convenience stores, Kopiyka, KOLO grocery stores, Meest POST, Budynok Igrashok, Kozatska Brovarnya, Budynok Velykoho Dyva, Market Vsi. Svoi, Ukrainian Retail Association (RAU), KURAZH, KSE, Nova Poshta, DTEK Energy UA, MHP, Ukrainian Orthodox Church, the All-Ukrainian Trade Union of Defenders of Ukraine, and many other partners. Thank you for your invaluable contributions!
This is a pivotal time when everyone’s efforts are visible. It matters that others recognize our work. But what matters most is that so many people support our initiatives and trust us.
This year, the Childhood Without War project was recognized in the World Book of Records as the largest evacuation of orphaned children since World War II. Our film “Save Generation UA” continues to receive international awards, and the foundation itself was ranked among the Top 50 Charitable Foundations in Ukraine by Forbes.
We are not stopping. Together with you, we will keep undertaking challenging but essential efforts for our shared goal. Thank you to each one of you.
May 2025 be the last year of this war.
Happy New Year!
