The retail chains EVA and VARUS, united by TERWIN Corporation, have been included in the ranking of the 200 largest companies in Ukraine by revenue in 2023. The ranking was compiled and published by Business Censor.
The second year of the war did not shake the position of big business in Ukraine's economy. The combined revenue of the 200 largest Ukrainian enterprises amounted to UAH 4.445 trillion in 2023, which is UAH 500 billion more than the largest companies' revenue in 2022.
EVA and VARUS made it into the top 100 of the ranking. According to Business Censor, in 2023, the total revenue of LLC "RUSH" (EVA) amounted to UAH 21 billion. The revenue of LLC "OMEGA" was UAH 17.5 billion.
Both chains are opening new stores, increasing turnover, expanding their assortment, and actively developing the e-commerce direction. The companies have learned to operate during the war and continue to move forward even under such conditions.
In 2023, EVA opened 59 new stores, bringing the total number of operating stores to 1061 by the end of the year. The network also launched 6 new private label brands. Thus, the company's private label portfolio includes 58 brands, comprising over 5000 SKUs across almost all categories. EVA directed more than UAH 30 million to charitable causes and assistance to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
For VARUS, 2023 was marked by recovery and scaling. The network reopened stores that had temporarily ceased operations at the start of the full-scale invasion, including in frontline cities. It continues to implement its plan to open new supermarkets; last year, VARUS entered the new Odessa region for the first time, opening two stores in Odessa. Currently, the network has 107 operating stores across Ukraine and a DarkStore in Kyiv. VARUS donated more than UAH 40 million to charity.
