EVA Creates a Memorial Alley in Dnipro to Honor Fallen Employees

On May 16, in the open exhibition area of Gagarin Park at the Oles Honchar Dnipro National University Botanical Garden (72 Nauky Ave.), the EVA retail chain initiated the planting of a Memorial Alley to honor employees who lost their lives as a result of Russia’s war against Ukraine.

The ceremony was attended by the relatives of the fallen, their colleagues, and company executives. As a tribute, 20 trees were planted — one for each colleague the EVA team has lost since the start of the full-scale invasion. Among them are mobilized employees who died on the front lines, as well as civilians whose lives were cut short by hostilities — as a result of shelling, at work, on the road, or at home.

Those commemorated include: Serhii Shapovalov, Denys Soloviov, Yevhen Slobodin, Taras Mishchuk, Ihor Kolotylo, Mykola Kushch, Roman Fediv, Artem Varsan, and Ruslan Melnyk — all goods receivers; store managers Olena Bykovska and Vasyl Kozub; sales associate Hanna Protsenko and store administrator Sofiia Vynnyk; goods picker Ihor Brazhnikov; warehouseman at the distribution center Serhii Sauliak; shift supervisor in the shipping department Nazarii Stetsura; distribution center driver Yurii Buryi; IT systems administrator Vadym Holomoz; e-commerce category manager Yevhenii Tantsiura; and deputy head of the legal department Ivan Yelnikov.

Each tree in the Memorial Alley carries a QR code linking to the personal story of the fallen colleague on the website work.eva.ua — featuring their life path, memories shared by loved ones, photos, and memorable words.

“These 20 trees are symbols of lives we have no right to forget. Each one is a reminder of a person who was part of our team, contributed to a common cause, and shared care and kindness. We want their memory to live on, so we created a space where one can come — to remember and to say thank you. This is deeply personal for each of us, and I believe it is also important for the families of the fallen, whose pain we share with profound respect,” said Inna Pecherytsia, HRD of the EVA retail chain.

The Memorial Alley is a reminder that the war has touched everyone — and that gratitude is not only about words but also about the responsibility to remember those who are no longer with us but remain forever in our hearts.
