In Ukraine, the contribution of logistics to GDP is about 4%, whereas in European countries this figure ranges from 6.5% to 10%. Ukraine also lags significantly behind Poland in terms of logistics infrastructure capacity: while Poland has around 30 million square meters of Class A and B warehouse space, Ukraine had only 3 million square meters as of 2023.
As a result of shelling, 500,000 square meters of warehouse space have been damaged, and another 350,000 square meters have been completely destroyed.
In 2024, Kyiv alone required 500,000 square meters of warehouse space, with the remaining regions needing an additional 500,000 square meters. EVA and VARUS will also require an expansion of their logistics footprint. Today, VARUS operates about 50,000 square meters of warehouses, while EVA utilizes around 100,000 square meters. Within five years, these retail chains will need to expand their warehouse space to 300,000 square meters.
This is exactly why TERWIN has launched a large-scale infrastructure project to create a network of next-generation logistics parks. The project covers over 1 million square meters of Class A warehouse facilities near four major cities with populations of over a million: Kyiv, Lviv, Odesa, and Dnipro. This is a comprehensive ecosystem that will set a new standard for logistics infrastructure in Ukraine and drive economic growth.
