The newly established group aims to become a platform for finding solutions that will help businesses drive the recovery and growth of Ukraine’s economy.

Ruslan Shostak, President of the TERWIN Corporation and founder of the EVA and VARUS chains, has been appointed Head of the Retail and Logistics Group within the Business Council under the President of Ukraine, chaired by the Head of the Presidential Office, Andriy Yermak.

According to the entrepreneur, the Council’s work is proceeding at an exceptionally dynamic pace — from meetings with top company executives to direct dialogues with Prime Minister Yuliya Svyrydenko.

“For the first time in Ukraine’s history, I see a real partnership format: business is not only being heard, but we are also jointly seeking solutions to key challenges facing the national economy. Finally, there is a clear understanding at the highest level that Ukraine’s budget is funded exclusively by Ukrainian business. The efficiency of our work determines not only the development of companies but also the country’s future. Because the ultimate beneficiary of our actions is not business and not even the state — it is Ukraine and its citizens. Every one of us who wants to live in a modern, strong, and prosperous country. Through joint efforts, we can create a new economic model for Ukraine — honest, transparent, and competitive. In a country where business and government are allies, every citizen benefits,”
— said Ruslan Shostak, President of TERWIN.

In the retail and logistics sectors, several strategic priorities have already been identified: business de-shadowing, creating an effective migration policy to encourage Ukrainians to return home, implementing mechanisms for war-risk insurance, and ensuring investment security guarantees.

Another important initiative is the proposal to establish an independent business protection body under the President or a business association to review corporate and regulatory cases and coordinate efforts to protect businesses from unlawful actions by state authorities.
