Ruslan Shostak, President of TERWIN, Proposes Establishing a Supervisory Board to Oversee Funds for the Reconstruction of "Okhmatdyt"
5.08.2024
On his Facebook page, Ukrainian entrepreneur and co-owner of the EVA and VARUS chains proposed the creation of a supervisory board consisting of businesspeople, public figures, and military personnel to oversee the allocation of funds.
Ruslan Shostak and his businesses were among the first to donate towards the reconstruction of "Okhmatdyt," recognizing the importance of this issue.
The entrepreneur emphasizes that if the state is indifferent to how budget funds are spent, he is not indifferent to how his money and the money of his businesses are used. He is convinced that anyone who has contributed to the reconstruction of the children's hospital—whether it's a million or a single hryvnia—cares about who and how the clinic will be rebuilt. Millions of people want to see this process as transparent as possible.
"I strongly suggest assembling a supervisory board composed of honorable businesspeople, community members, military personnel, well-known bloggers, and media representatives who will oversee and guarantee that the funds are indeed used for the reconstruction of the children's hospital. They should oversee the tender and the construction process itself. This board should include representatives of businesses that have donated towards the hospital's reconstruction—such as ATB, monobank, OKKO, Kernel, Aurora, and many others. Representatives of charitable foundations, auditing companies, the Big Four, and Baker Tilly, for example. Well-known bloggers like Ihor Lachenkov, Serhii Sternenko, and Yaroslava Hres. This board could even be elected through voting on their pages, which would be right and fair. After all, they were the ones who raised funds for the hospital's reconstruction on their Telegram channels and Facebook, and it was their audience who made the donations. The board would be approved by the Ministry of Health and the management of 'Okhmatdyt' and would become the official oversight center. Just one step, which I propose, and instead of a scandal, we will create a great story that will become a legend of responsible unity and a model for others," said Ruslan Shostak.
The creation of such an independent supervisory body could set a precedent for our country in other projects as well.
