Ruslan Shostak shared insights from the World Economic Forum in Davos with Forbes Ukraine
27.01.2025
TERWIN President Ruslan Shostak attended the World Economic Forum in Davos and shared key trends from this year’s event in an interview with Forbes Ukraine.
According to Shostak, WEF 2025 went beyond economic issues, focusing heavily on Donald Trump’s presidency. As a new leader, he will shape a new Western policy toward the East. “Some will use this as an opportunity, an additional lever for development,” the businessman noted.
Ukraine remained in the Davos spotlight primarily through discussions on the war and humanitarian aid. At the same time, global investors are waiting for real investment opportunities. “Investors don’t just want to participate in Ukraine’s reconstruction—they are looking for opportunities for their economic growth. Our task is to bring them to Ukraine’s side,” Shostak emphasized.
For instance, Saudi Arabia presented a $1 trillion project in Davos—constructing the 170 km-long linear city, of Neom. “This is a state-backed project with strong investor support. It’s a powerful message that will surely resonate,” the TERWIN president shared.
Shostak believes Ukraine also has the potential to offer the world trillion-dollar projects and should not limit itself to military-related initiatives. Investors want to hear about real economic opportunities, structural reforms, and anti-corruption changes in the country. Ukraine needs to shift toward a financial agenda in its global partnerships.
Another key topic at the forum was the impact of artificial intelligence on various aspects of life, as it is set to transform everything—warfare, politics, and public governance.
“Davos is a platform for building new economic connections, which is especially crucial for Ukraine at this time,” Shostak concluded.
