The initiative was recognized in the "Social Responsibility and Impact" category at the PR Cases Competition by MMR — Marketing Media Review.
For the corporation, this award holds a special meaning, as the "Memory Square for Journalist's Day" is not just a communication case study, but a symbol of remembrance, humanity, and gratitude to those who held the information front during the war.
One hundred trees were planted in the square to honor the journalists who lost their lives as a result of the full-scale invasion. According to the Ministry of Culture and Strategic Communications of Ukraine, 116 Ukrainian and foreign media professionals — including journalists, reporters, photographers, camera operators, and editors — have already lost their lives while fulfilling their professional duties. Their work stood as a testament to the truth about the war, and their memory continues to live on not only in the news but also in the form of living trees — symbols of ongoing life.
"For us, this recognition is particularly valuable because it is about responsibility — not just to the business, but to society. Memory is a part of our communication culture, our identity. Thanks to the daily and courageous work of journalists, the world knows the truth about the war in Ukraine. And it is our duty to remember everyone who perished. We created the 'Memory Square for Journalist's Day' as a space of gratitude to those who held the information front to the very end, risking their lives," shared Olena Zubarieva, Director of Strategic Communications and Development at TERWIN Corporation.
Alongside the square, the TERWIN team launched a memorial website compiling the names of the journalists who defended the information front until their final moments. The information is gathered from open sources and is continuously updated.
This year's PR Marathon by MMR was held under the slogan "In the Mirror of Reality." The event brought together over 300 participants and 30 top speakers from the marketing and PR industries.
The winners of the PR Cases Competition were determined based on the results of online voting by the readership community and evaluations from an expert jury. This year, awards were presented to teams that, even amidst challenges and instability, reflect core values, strengthen trust, maintain a dialogue with society, and shape new communication standards.
