On September 25, the "Driverless Vehicles" private event took place at the Chaika autodrome in Kyiv, showcasing remote control technology for military vehicles. The event was organized by the Ruslan Shostak Charitable Foundation as part of the HEROCAR project in collaboration with the Estonian company Telearmy, the developer of the technology.
The presentation demonstrated how this advanced technology could save the lives of Ukrainian soldiers on the front lines. According to experts, one driverless vehicle can save up to four lives in a single mission, with around ten such operations carried out daily. These vehicles are used for the riskiest tasks, including delivering ammunition, evacuating the wounded, conducting reconnaissance, and deploying air defense systems.
The event was attended by representatives of the military command, including Colonel Andriy Yakovenko, head of the Central Military Equipment Supply Department of the Armaments Logistics Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, who said: "We have witnessed a remotely operated vehicle, controlled by an operator. Depending on its purpose, it can be used to transport ammunition, food, and other supplies directly to the front line. This way, we can save the lives and health of our personnel. I believe that this project should continue and develop."
The Ruslan Shostak Charitable Foundation is the exclusive representative of Telearmy among charitable organizations in Ukraine. This partnership opens new opportunities to enhance the efficiency and safety of Ukrainian military operations.
Yevheniya But, CEO of the Ruslan Shostak Charitable Foundation, emphasized the importance of this technology for supporting the Ukrainian armed forces: "Today we are talking about the future. And in this future, technology will save the invaluable lives of our soldiers! For the third year, the Ruslan Shostak Charitable Foundation and the HEROCAR project have been supplying wheeled vehicles to the front. Mostly, these are powerful pickups. Our focused work in the area of transport gives us the highest expertise in this field. Therefore, we are delighted to become the exclusive representative of Telearmy's remote driving technology among charitable foundations in Ukraine. This partnership is logical, considering our core focus. I am confident that this collaboration will be effective. I invite you to join us and invest in technologies that save lives!"
During the event, a test drive — a direct demonstration of the unmanned vehicle — took place, allowing participants to witness the capabilities of the remotely controlled cars firsthand. Additionally, one vehicle was remotely operated from 2,000 km away in Estonia.
"Telearmy is one of the first companies to make remote vehicle control widespread and accessible for the military. Our technology has already been tested by leading OEMs and proven reliable under 4G conditions, as well as on the front line using Starlink, and is being tested in military networks. Telearmy offers many advantages: easy upgrade of existing vehicles, quick installation, and lower costs compared to other unmanned solutions. Join us and help make the front line safer for Ukrainian warriors with Telearmy!" said Enn Laansoo Jr., CEO of Telearmy.
The event marked an important step in the technological development of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and demonstrated the strong potential of cooperation between charitable organizations, international partners, and military structures in defending Ukraine.
