VARUS paid over half a billion UAH in taxes in Q1 2025

30.05.2025

In the first quarter of 2025, VARUS supermarket chain contributed UAH 514,867.2 thousand in taxes and fees to budgets at all levels. Despite the challenges of wartime, the company continues to operate reliably, supporting the Ukrainian economy and social infrastructure.

VARUS emphasizes that responsibility to the state and society is not merely a legal obligation, but a conscious choice of a business that operates with integrity and transparency.

“We remain committed to the principles of transparent business practices and fair partnership with the state. Timely and full payment of taxes is our contribution to economic stability and support for the country. We understand that every hryvnia going to the budget is critically important today,” — said Maryna Panina, CFO of VARUS.

The tax contributions include mandatory payments to state and local budgets, including VAT, corporate income tax, unified social contributions, and other taxes forming the foundation of public financing.

VARUS is one of the largest grocery retail chains in Ukraine, operating 113 stores across multiple cities. The company employs thousands of Ukrainians, actively develops its logistics and online delivery through VARUS.UA, supports domestic producers, and regularly participates in humanitarian initiatives.

Despite the challenges of security risks, power outages, and shifts in consumer demand, VARUS maintains its focus on sustainable growth, investment in technology, and social responsibility.
